Published my first Windows Live Writer plugin: Amazon Book Linker v1.0

Well, after using Windows Live Writer as my default blogging platform for quite some time, I decided to play around with the provided API to build a little plugin which will speed up the process of finding and linking books from Amazon directly to a blog post.

Amazon Book Linker v1.0 is a free plugin for Windows Live Writer which provides many innovative functionalities for searching and linking books from Amazon on your blog post.  It allows you to specify your own Amazon Associate Tag to every link (you only have to provide this information once, and the plugin will remember it next time) so that you can make a sales commission out of a direct sale from one of the links.  Furthermore, it empowers the HTML ninja (or ninjette) to also customize the HTML template to better match the link layout to your own design.  In order to assist you with this process, the plugin also lists you a series of predefined macros to use.  You can also choose your preferred Amazon locale (US, CA, CO.UK, JP, FR or DE) too!

For more information, I’ll invite you to check the brand new Projects page on this site.  Meanwhile, here are a few screenshots.

thanks for creating such a cool plugin
I am too finishing up a plugin but i need to create an msi installer for it,
can you send me some pointers/instructions of how you created the msi installer? wha the installer does?

    thanks.

    Jose.

@Jose: I’ll be very glad to help you out for the installer. Would you like to Skype about it? “Skype about it”…first time I say that…sounds normal to me. Send me an email to bdicroce@gmail.com so we can schedule time. It’ll be easier to walk you through it. 10 minutes max and you should be done.

Yes, thanks very much for making & releasing this plugin. It’s a big time-saver and I’m grateful. I just started using Live Writer the other day and am *quite* impressed with it so far… this plugin makes it better. Cheers.

    Brian,
Thanks for the great Windows Live Writer plug in. Anyone who writes book reviews will love this plug in.

Easy to use and the ability to modify the template is brilliant. I am sure as I use it more I will develop a better template.

Thanks again for the great plug in.

Just a heads up from another Brian, I tried the plugin but on Vista 64 bit I keep getting the “Windows Live Writer has stopped working” message. I appreciate the time and effort that you put into this and the fact that you distribute it for free. I’d love to have it working but for now it isn’t usable for me.

Congrats brian, it is tricky to make something similar. Have you considered preparing the version for windows 7?

  8. Brian:

@SEO: Thanks. The plugin works for any version that supports .NET and Live Writer. It’s actually being developed and tested under a Windows 7 machine

You mention some good points here, perhaps I can help. If you need more info, I found this website, a new website who sell all SEO softwares and SEO services. They also help with server, search engine or computer programming consultations. Personally, I bought IBP, SENuke, Unique Article Writer and had a consultant help me with some computer issues I had no clue on how to fix. They just launched Oct 1
